Warning signs

When the dryer struggles, the vent is usually why.

Every load sends lint past the filter and into the vent. Over time it packs the duct, especially in long runs, bends and roof vents. Airflow drops, the dryer runs longer and hotter, and lint builds up where heat can reach it. Clogged dryer vents are a well-known cause of home dryer fires, which is why fire-safety agencies recommend having them cleaned regularly.

  • Clothes need two cycles, or come out damp and hot
  • The laundry room or the dryer top gets very warm
  • A burning smell, or lint around the outside or roof vent
  • The outside flap barely opens when the dryer runs
  • Birds or debris in the vent opening

How we clean dryer vents

From the dryer
to the open air.

  1. Find the whole route

We trace where your vent runs, through the wall, the attic or up to the roof, and check the outside or roof cap.

  2. Disconnect and inspect

The dryer is pulled out and disconnected, and the transition duct behind it is checked for crushing or damage.

  3. Brush the full length

Rotary brushes run through the vent line to break up packed lint, which is pushed out and removed.

  4. Clear the exit

The exterior or roof vent cap is cleared of lint, nests and debris so the flap can open freely.

  5. Reconnect and test

Everything is reconnected and the dryer is run to check airflow at the outside vent.

  6. Show you

You see what came out, and we point out anything that needs attention, like a crushed or too-long duct.

What customers say

“Freddy and Marco were great. They came out on Christmas Eve and cleaned our dryer vent. We'd recently bought our home and had no idea how much lint was built up in the vent. They were able to clean it out quickly for a reasonable price. Thanks guys!”

Questions

Dryer vents,
plainly answered.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Many fire-safety guides suggest at least once a year. Large families, long vent runs and roof vents often need it more often. Several of our customers book it annually.

How do I know my dryer vent is clogged?

Clothes take longer than usual to dry, the dryer or laundry room gets very hot, or lint collects around the outside vent flap. If you ever smell burning, stop using the dryer and have the vent checked.

Can you clean roof vents?

Yes. Many Los Angeles homes and condos vent through the roof. We check and clear the roof cap as part of the job when it can be reached safely.

How long does it take?

It depends on the length of the vent and how easy it is to reach. We’ll tell you once we’ve seen the route.

Do you also clean air ducts?

Yes. Air duct cleaning is a separate service, and many customers book both on the same visit. Read about air duct cleaning.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the length and access of the vent. Estimates are free and the price is confirmed before we start. Call 818-808-0123.
